Honfleur’s land first belonged to the parishes of Saint-Anselme, Saint-Gervais, Saint-Lazare and Sainte-Claire. The idea of founding a separate parish dates back to the late 1850s. It divided the people of Bellechasse for a long time.

- 1905Parish canonically established
- 1915Municipality incorporated

In 1903, the archbishop allowed a church and presbytery to be built, even though the parish had no official status yet. The post office opened that same year took the name Honfleur. The church, built by Elzéar Métivier, held its first mass at Christmas 1904.
The canonical erection of the parish of Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil was decreed in 1905. Rome confirmed it in 1907 and asked that the municipality wait until the opposition ended. It was only incorporated in 1915, which makes Honfleur the youngest municipality in the Bellechasse RCM.
The interior finishing of the church was completed in 1928. In the 1930s, two cheese factories opened and, by the end of the decade, residents were working 75 sugar bushes. A Desjardins caisse populaire opened in 1942, and the parish celebrated its centennial in 2004.
