On January 15, 1634, the Compagnie des Cent-Associés granted the seigneury of Beauport to Robert Giffard, a surgeon from Normandy. The land, between the Beauport and Montmorency rivers and the St. Lawrence, was distributed from 1655, and some fifteen families settled there in the 17th century. The Beauport area remained farmland until the mid-20th century.

In 1936, the Église Sainte-Thérèse-de-l’Enfant-Jésus was built to plans by Adrien Dufresne, in the Dom Bellot style.
On January 20, 1945, the remaining part of the municipality, in the northeast of the original territory, took the name Sainte-Thérèse-de-Lisieux. Joseph-F. Paquet was its mayor from 1944 to 1952. Hyphens were added to the name on March 15, 1969. Boulevard Raymond was named in 1971 in honour of mayor Raymond-Marie Côté, in office from 1968 to 1972.
On January 1, 1976, Sainte-Thérèse-de-Lisieux was annexed to Beauport and became one of its neighbourhoods. In 2002, Beauport merged with Québec City and the neighbourhood was numbered 5-1. On October 2, 2023, residents voted to create a neighbourhood council, which the City approved on October 24. An organizing meeting was held on December 11, 2023.
